ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Annapolis welcomed FutureCare Annapolis last week, a new rehabilitation and wellness facility that features 154 beds for patients in need of advanced orthopedic and stroke recovery programs, as well as a 3,000-square-foot rehabilitation gym.
The facility features VitalStrong Rehabilitation, FutureCare’s pioneering short-stay programs utilizing occupational, physical and speech therapy services. It will also be a Center of Excellence for STANDStrong, its specialized stroke and brain neurologic health rehabilitation program, and WalkStrong, orthopedic rehabilitation program services designed to help patients regain strength, balance and mobility.
Located at 2700 South Haven Road, FutureCare Annapolis is minutes from the historic downtown and close to the 55+ community Heritage Harbour. It’s also close to two hospitals: Luminis Health System’s Anne Arundel Medical Center and the University of Maryland’s Baltimore Washington Medical Center.

“The health care sector is the lifeblood of Maryland’s economy,” Gov. Wes Moore said in a speech following the ribbon-cutting ceremony on Oct. 29. “So if we want to grow the economy and create jobs, we need to double down on health care facilities like this one, and provide training for Marylanders looking to enter this field. We need to keep building for our seniors, for our workers and for our entire state.”
Long-term care facilities contribute more than $9 billion to Maryland’s economy each year, and skilled nursing facilities support more than 70,000 jobs across the state. The facility promises to add over 200 jobs to the area.
The facility is the company’s 16th rehabilitation center in the Baltimore/Washington area, and its second in Anne Arundel County.
Last summer, Gov. Moore announced $600,000 in grant awards to provide career pathways and increase retention among health care workers, including nursing assistants, patient care technicians and surgical technologists, to help prop up Maryland’s health care industry. The grant funding is expected to provide occupational training opportunities for more than 300 health care professionals.
Congresswoman Sarah Elfreth and FutureCare Chief Executive Officer Gary Attman also spoke at the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Founded in 1986, FutureCare is Maryland’s premier rehabilitation and skilled nursing provider. FutureCare owns and operates 16 rehabilitation and skilled nursing centers throughout the Baltimore/Washington area. FutureCare is consistently ranked as a top employer in the region and one of the top 50 post-acute companies in the country.
In a press release ahead of the event, Attman said, “At FutureCare, we’re always looking to the future, and FutureCare Annapolis will offer a full complement of forward-thinking rehab services, bringing better, stronger tomorrows for patients and their families.”
FutureCare Annapolis is currently accepting reservations for patients with scheduled surgeries or medical procedures requiring rehabilitation. To learn more, contact Admissions Director Carmen Bienemann at [email protected].
