Fulton County Medical Center (FCMC) is proud to announce that its Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program has been certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR). This prestigious certification recognizes FCMC’s commitment to delivering high-quality care and improving patient outcomes through evidence-based practices.
Cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation programs help individuals recovering from heart-related
conditions—such as heart attacks or coronary artery bypass surgery—and those managing chronic
lung diseases like COPD. These programs combine exercise training, education, counseling, and
family support to promote faster recovery and healthier lifestyles.
To achieve AACVPR certification, FCMC underwent a rigorous application process requiring detailed
documentation of its clinical practices. AACVPR Program Certification is the only peer-reviewed
accreditation process that evaluates adherence to nationally recognized standards and guidelines.
Each application is reviewed by the AACVPR Program Certification Committee and approved by its
Board of Directors.
Since 2018, AACVPR has implemented an outcomes-based certification process, emphasizing
measurable improvements in patient health. Certified programs are recognized as leaders in the field,
offering advanced practices and demonstrating proven success in patient care. Certification is valid
for three years.
“This achievement reflects our team’s dedication to providing exceptional care and supporting
patients on their journey to better health,” said Dr. Jeffery Mandak. “We are honored to be
recognized by AACVPR and remain committed to excellence in rehabilitation services.”
