Encompass Health plans new rehab hospital in Nevada, US

US-based Encompass Health is set to construct a new inpatient rehabilitation hospital in North Las Vegas, Nevada, US.

Anticipated to open by 2028, the facility will be the company’s fourth location in the state and will join Encompass Health’s national network.

The proposed 50-bed hospital will cater to patients recovering from debilitating health conditions and injuries such as neurological disorders, strokes, brain and spinal cord injuries, amputations, and complex orthopaedic conditions.

It will provide care, including 24-hour nursing and occupational, physical and speech therapies to restore functional ability and improve the quality of life for its patients.

The hospital will offer a therapy gym equipped with rehabilitation technologies, private patient rooms and an activities of daily living suite.

Additionally, it will include an in-house dialysis suite, a dining room, a pharmacy, and a therapy courtyard, all aimed at supporting the recovery process.

Encompass Health West regional president Kim Steward said: “We are excited to begin construction and progress toward opening another hospital in the Las Vegas market.

“The hospital will provide residents in the North Las Vegas community access to high-quality, compassionate rehabilitative care close to their homes.”

Encompass Health has a national presence that includes 168 hospitals across 38 states and Puerto Rico, and is continuing to expand its footprint.

Last month, the company announced the launch of a 60-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Fort Myers, Florida, in partnership with Lee Health.

Earlier this year, Encompass Health unveiled plans for a new 50-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital in St. George, Utah. The company owns and operates inpatient rehabilitation hospitals across the US.
