Atlantic Rehabilitation Institute has been named to Newsweek’s list of America’s Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers 2025 and ranked first in the Northeast Region.
This award is presented by Newsweek and Statista Inc., a leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider.
Atlantic Rehabilitation Institute is a two-story, 38-bed rehabilitation hospital located in Madison, built from the ground up by Atlantic Health, and is a joint venture between Atlantic Health and Lifepoint Health. After opening in 2019, it quickly addressed a need for acute inpatient rehabilitation services within New Jersey and has developed a reputation for high quality care in the region.
Specializing in neurological rehabilitation, stroke rehabilitation, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries and amputation, Atlantic Rehabilitation Institute offers state-of-the-art technology and therapies, such as bionic assisted movement systems, therapeutic courtyards, fully outfitted rehabilitation gyms and a dedicated ADL (Activities of Daily Living) suite.
“Atlantic Rehabilitation Institute is proud to be recognized on Newsweek’s list of America’s Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers 2025 and to see our hospital ranked highest in the Northeast Region,” said Saif Salim, Chief Executive Officer of Atlantic Rehabilitation Institute. “This award highlights the remarkable and industry-leading care our team of rehabilitation professionals delivers every day. We meet patients at some of the most difficult crossroads in their lives and know the impact that patient-centered treatment can have on their recovery journeys.”
The America’s Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers 2025 ranking recognizes the leading physical rehabilitation facilities in the U.S. The 25 states with the most facilities according to Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) were ranked individually. The facilities from the remaining states were grouped into four regions: Northeast, Midwest, West, and South.
The list is based on four data pillars:
Quality Metric: Data for inpatient rehabilitation facilities (IRFs) published by the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)
National Online Survey: An online survey among experts with knowledge of physical rehabilitation centers (physicians, physiotherapists, doctors, clinic managers, and other health care professionals) was conducted in cooperation with Newsweek.
Accreditation: Data on physical rehabilitation centers provided by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and the Model Systems Knowledge Translation Center (MSKTC).
Google Reviews: Reviews from Google were included as a proxy for patient satisfaction.
